What's in a name? that which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet;
~ William Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet
Most people interpret this phrase to mean that an object, or person is not defined by it's/their name. I propose that there is a dual meaning. While I agree that is true, I believe that words have power; great power. Words can be used to lift people up or to bring them down. Words can motivate people to greatness, or leave them stagnate searching for answers.
Parents who are expecting new babies spend hours searching for that one special name. They look through books, online, and even ancestors' who have names that embodies their wishes for their child. From the very beginning we imbue intentions, and emotions with in words. How many times do we say things with great meaning and feeling that a word simply cannot adequately express. Words such as I love you.
Who am I?
Any person who tries to put original work online knows how hard it is to come up with something that has not been used already, while being true to who you are and maintain the feel of what you are trying to share with the world. It took me a while, but I finally figured out something that was not taken. In my house we love to laugh. I often do silly things to entertain, and make my children smile when they are sad. Okay, who am I kidding? Honestly, I am a very silly woman. HaHa!
One time I was riding with a friend down a primary road directly beside a golf course. I yelled to the people teeing off "Four" from the car window.
I am also that weird person who will talk to strangers and compliment random children on their good behavior in public also telling them that I, a stranger, am proud of them. I also compliment stressed out wonderful parents who really work and pay attention to their children. We all need to know when we are doing a good job, and making a difference.
I am the mom that really doesn't care what my children decide to wear so long as a few basic rules are followed. First of all, all areas that are covered by a swimsuit needs to be covered with their cloths as well. Secondly, I do not care if it matches as long as it is clean. Finally, they must have appropriate cloths for the weather or event. An example, socks must be worn with tennis shoes if we will be walking a long ways. Of course, there are always the exceptions with events and items being to short where I require an addition of shorts, or different cloths all together.
"Why? Because I'm the mom, you are the child, and I said so" :) Seriously though, I do let them know reasons why. They need to learn cause and effect and realize what their choices lead to before they make a decision. :)

(This picture is not my work)
I want my children to feel confident of who they are. I want them to learn to be socially appropriate, but I want them to know that it is okay to be an individual.
I want my children to learn how to believe in things they can not see. The magic of this world, if you will. Everything from Human nature to seeing the miracle that every living thing possesses within them.
I want them to fall in love with learning! I want them to seek answers and feel driven to learn something new everyday. I have found that this is a great way to keep life exciting and fresh at all times. Find the wonder that Belle has from Beauty and the Beast. Your life will be better for it. I promise.
Well, I am going to close this post as I could ramble on for ever. That would get boring quickly, not to mention I would have a short run of blogging, as I would run out of things to post about within this opening post. Ha!
I wish everyone a Wonder-filled, Magical day.
Two phrases that I say are
"Do what you can with what you've got."
"If this is the worst thing that happens today, the rest is gravy" aka "don't cry over spilled milk"
Thank you for spending time with me, and reading my ramblings. :)
